Craft Gin Club is proud to welcome Junimperium Distillery into our Family of Distillers, after the Estonian craft producers snagged October 2022’s coveted Gin of the Month slot.
The Junimperium Special Edition Tallinn Dry Gin formed the centerpiece our ‘After Dark’ box, a celebration of long evenings spent sipping cocktails, discovering new spots and ‘burning the midnight oil’ to craft exquisite products.
This exclusive expression – our first foray to Estonia – features four kinds of juniper alongside nordic quince, bitter green orange peel and lemongrass.
Peter Downes, Gin Expert at Craft Gin Club, says: “From the reassuringly familiar piney core to the bright, citrusy-yet-floral notes of Nordic quince, the flavours come together to create a well-balanced, fantastic gin.”
Junimperium is the brainchild of Tarvo Jaansoo, whose desire to craft an Estonian gin led to the creation of a truly craft distillery. With Aare Ormus behind the still, the Junimperium team has created a catalogue of junipers from around the world – and handcrafted a full range of spectacular gins, to boot.
Of his distillery’s name Tarvo says: “We decided we would be called Junimperium, a combination of the Latin words for ‘juniper’ and ‘empire’. After all, that’s what we’re building: an empire of juniper.”
