Graveney Gin snags coveted December Gin of the Month slot
Meet the newest member of the Family of Distillers.
Our members unwrapped a festive special edition of Graveney Gin: their Festive Fayre edition, which is rich with the Christmassy flavours of cranberry and orange. Sweet spices round out a botanical blend fit for the most wonderful time of the year.
Founded by Victoria Christie in her south west London kitchen, Graveney Gin quickly gained a following in Tooting, the tight-knit neighbourhood it calls home. Graveney Gin still operates a bottle shop and bar in the historic Tooting Market, a landmark frequented by locals and tourists alike. The distillery is now owned and managed by university friends Mark Strippel and Raj Patel. Under their guidance, the brand has grown whilst retaining its proudly Tooting roots. Mark is a familiar face at farmer's markets around southwest London, where he still serves a loyal local customer base.
He says: "We're at a time when we all need a sense of community more than ever; it's such a prescient theme around December for people across the UK. It will always be at the core of what we do at Graveney Gin, and we're so excited to share that with Craft Gin Club members."
The special edition Graveney Festive Fayre Gin, developed especially for Craft Gin Club's December Gin of the Month box, is a truly seasonal spirit. Nine botanicals, including clementine, cranberry, orange and sweet spices, combine for an aroma evocative of a classic Christmas table.
Mark explains: "Cranberry on its own has that slightly sour note to it, with a contrasting sweetness. I hadn't tried it with citrus flavours before. We found that they paired together exceptionally well, especially with the addition of winter spices like nutmeg."
