Craft Gin Club is proud to announce that In the Welsh Winds Signature Style Gin - which is crafted in Cardigan Bay, Wales by Ellen Wakelam and Alex Jungmayr - is our April 2022 Gin of the Month.

In the Welsh Winds Signature Style Gin was inspired by Ellen and Alex's epic, 1000-mile walking tour of Wales.

The 13-strong botanical blend includes juniper, sweet orange ribbon and currants soaked in Earl Grey tea. Ellen and Alex chose ingredients that paid tribute to traditional Welsh flavours and the rich seafaring tradition in Cardigan Bay.

Alex says, "This area has a rich maritime past, with a history of building ships from Welsh oak, that would sail around the coasts of Portugal and Spain and bring back spices, teas and fruits. These would end up in Welsh kitchens, inspiring classic recipes like bara brith and Welsh cakes. I have a background in baking so I was very familiar with these ingredients, and it felt like using them would be a special way to express what this stretch of coastline is all about."
